Our puppies have arrived.....3 boys and 5 girls....Monday 17th February 2017 all weighing at around the 1lb mark.

Just before Christmas we had a lovely trip over to France to visit the very handsome

Titus ~ UK Sh Ch/Multi Champion/Int Champion Terra Di Siena Du Bois De La Rayere.

Mating done, now all we had to do was to keep our fingers crossed.

At 4 weeks we had Annie scanned and were delighted to see that she was pregnant. The following weeks went smoothly and Annie just got on with her life, just taking it a little more easy towards the later stages.

Usually with a pregnacy there are a few indications of when the bitch is getting ready to whelp but not with Annie.

A few barks at 1am in the morning asking to go outside was all that she did followed by a couple of hours of restlessness. Then at 5am her contractions started and the first puppy; a little girl was born at 7am and the rest followed. After the 5th baby popped out Annie's contractions slowed down and became less productive. Having been scanned for 6 puppies and feeling that there was at least another puppy still waiting to be born we took her to the vet for a check over. After examination our vet advised us that yes there was another baby but unfortunately it had became stuck in the birth canal, blocking the way for the other puppy. So at this point we opted for a ceasarean, not something we take lightly but the babies needed to come out so, we left Annie in the very capable hands of our vet. A phone call a few hours later and the vet told us the happy news....the operation went ok, Annie is doing ok and you have 3 live puppies. So after being scanned for 6 the other two babies are a very happy bonus and Annie was able to come home and be with all her new family

I am so pleased and proud that this mating has proved a success. Many of Titus' ancestors are dogs which i have long admired for over 20 years but at the time never been able to use them at stud so, to get these lines incorporated into the Applecote lines is, to me a big dream come true

As for Titus i love the bones off that dog!!

He has a beautiful character and excellent temperament. He has proved himself not only in the show ring but also in the field too and to me is just a really good looking golden ;)

I can't wait to see these little puppies thrive and grow.

So it is definitely a case of watch this space.....
